With his debut EP "Ramah EP", Hamburg beatmaker kowie invites you to a relaxed get-together with good friends. To dream. To philosophize. To be there for each other – whether in the kitchen or in the living room, clinking bottles of beer or glasses of wine.

“Ramah” is Indonesian and means ‘to be friendly’. And that's exactly what the 5 tracks on the EP sound like: friendly, relaxed, open. kowie doesn’t let himself be restricted by genre boundaries, rather combining very different styles into an overall vibe.

It starts with “Hörperl”, both a dreamy and a funky groove, carried by catchy chords and a playful bassline. Following that, kowie strikes late summer sounds with “Figried”, that exude a Copacabana breeze, dancing on the current of an atmospheric vocal sample.

The sounds of "Mimpi" and "Flysn" are more thoughtful and make space for you to pause and reflect. Reserved but beautiful, and sometimes sublime melodies meet pressing, though not abrasive drums. “Mimpi” is more mellow, “Flysn” majestic – especially due to the great interplay between piano and electric guitar.

"Ramah" ends with the track "Dark Days" – a profound loop that features samples of renowned US rapper DMX, who died in 2021, and allows you to lose yourself in your thoughts.

With “Ramah”, kowie delivers a multi-faceted EP that, despite its eclecticism, delivers a cohesive sound that will keep your finger close to the repeat button.

In 2016 kowie entered the beat scene as cofounder (together with Grossstatttraum and Max Gyver) of the event series “Project: Beatmaker”.
Through his efforts to give the beat culture in Germany a stage, he himself found his way to producing. Inspired by his environment, he works on hip-hop beats of all kinds without being restricted by certain genres. He now has several collabo singles and appearances on compilations. 2021 will be his year because his debut EP "Ramah" is finally OUT NOW.
